1. Overview
OurCrib helps housemates manage a shared home — splitting bills, tracking chores, sharing shopping lists and more. Because OurCrib is built around shared households, it does collect and store data so that members of the same household can stay in sync. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
2. Information You Provide
- Account details — your email address and a display name. Required to create an account.
- Profile information — an optional avatar or profile photo.
- Household details — a household name and, optionally, a household address.
- Shared content — bills and expenses, amounts, payments, chores, shopping lists, announcements, comments, reactions, events, house rules and documents you add.
- Receipts — if you scan a receipt, text is read from the image to help fill in expense details.
3. Information Collected Automatically
- A device notification token, if you enable push notifications, so we can send alerts.
- Basic technical information needed to operate the app, such as the timing of sync requests.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account and your household.
- To sync shared household data between members so everyone sees the same information.
- To calculate balances and who owes what.
- To send notifications you have opted into.
- To read text from receipts you choose to scan, so expense entry is faster.
5. Information Shared With Your Household
OurCrib is a shared app. When you join or create a household, other members of that household can see information relevant to running the home together — including your display name, your profile photo, the bills and payments you add, what you owe or are owed, chores assigned to you, shopping list items, announcements and comments. Only share a household with people you trust. You should not enter information you do not want other household members to see.
6. Service Providers
We use trusted third parties to run OurCrib. These include a cloud hosting and database provider that stores your account and household data, and a third-party AI service used solely to read text from receipt images you choose to scan. These providers process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide the service. Some providers may process or store data on servers located outside Australia; where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected.
7. What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use advertising or advertising trackers.
- We do not use your data for any purpose other than running OurCrib.
8. Device Permissions
- Camera and Photo Library — to add a profile photo, attach photos, or scan receipts.
- Notifications — to deliver household alerts you opt into.
9. Data Security
Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls so that only members of your household — and you — can reach household data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
10. Your Rights and Choices
You can access and update most of your information directly in the app. You can leave a household at any time. To request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and associated personal data, contact us at support@grabhamdigital.com.au. Note that information you contributed to a shared household (such as a bill record) may remain visible to that household for record-keeping even after you leave; contact us if you need such records addressed.
11. Data Retention
We keep your account and household data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited information to meet legal obligations.
12. Children's Privacy
OurCrib is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@grabhamdigital.com.au and we will remove it.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected within the app or on this website. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
